Dr Saib Khogali is a consultant interventional cardiologist with specialist expertise in coronary and structural interventions.
He has specialist expertise in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and has performed over 3,000 TAVI cases using various approaches including: trans-femoral, subclavian, direct aortic and trans-carotid.
Dr Khogali treats the following conditions:
- aortic stenosis
- aortic regurgitation
- heart failure
- ischaemic heart disease including NSTEMI (non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction) and STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction)
- mitral regurgitation
- stroke
- valvular heart disease

- percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER)

Dr Khogali has been involved in developing multiple valve techniques and performed the first reported combined percutaneous TAVI and EVAR procedures, and has established and led the mitral/tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair program.

Biography
Dr Khogali trained at multiple prestigious institutions including the University of Birmingham, the University of Oxford and the University of Milan. He has previously served as the lead for transcatheter/structural heart interventions at the Heart and Lung Centre, New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.
Since 2008, he has been at the forefront of TAVI innovation including establishing one of the first TAVI centre in the UK and developing multiple different and innovative valve techniques.
Research
Dr Khogali currently holds an associated professorship at the University of Birmingham, and has actively engaged in clinical research with several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
