Our infant feeding service at St Thomas’ Hospital provides invaluable support as you start life with a new baby.

We offer advice on different feeding options from breastfeeding to bottle feeding, as well as assessments for growth and feeding issues.

Providing care for all neonatal feeding issues

Access support from expert specialists who can provide advice and guidance on:

  • breastfeeding and/or bottle feeding
  • weaning onto solids
  • cow’s milk protein allergy
  • growth concerns/assessment
  • reflux
  • constipation/diarrhoea
  • tongue tie

With access to our world-leading children’s specialists at Evelina London, your child can be referred to paediatric experts for ongoing care should there be any specific concerns.

Prices for a 1-hour consultation with our specialist:

  • £220 (face-to-face).
  • £170 (virtual).

What is included:

  • Full dietetic report via email with attached resources.
  • Email correspondence after your session has completed (two emails with Michaela are included to answer any urgent queries).

Prices for a 1-hour consultation with our specialist:

  • £170 (face-to-face).
  • £140 (virtual).

Prices for a 30 minute consultation with our specialist:

  • £110 (virtual).

Our infant feeding expert

Private consultations are available with our paediatric dietitian, Mrs Michaela Smith.

As a certified lactation consultant, Michaela empowers parents to initiate breastfeeding successfully and can help guide them through their feeding journey.

With expertise extending to bottle-feeding, Michaela ensures comprehensive support for diverse feeding needs and provides holistic support, prioritising the health and well-being of both parents and baby.

As a specialist neonatal dietitian, Michaela also monitors babies for signs of growth and feeding issues.
