He studied medicine at the University of Oxford (BM BCh, 2010), following a BSc in Human Sciences from UCL, and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society. A research fellowship at Imperial College London deepened his expertise in respiratory infection.

Research

Dr Morton’s research background is in the molecular microbiology of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, developed during his Clinical Research Training Fellowship at Imperial College London. This work underpins his specialist clinical interest in bronchiectasis and its underlying causes, including cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and other structural airway diseases.

Alongside his laboratory and clinical research, he has a strong interest in the role of technology and artificial intelligence in modern medicine — both in supporting physicians to work more effectively and in improving patient access to high-quality care. He believes that thoughtfully applied innovation has the potential to transform the patient experience and reduce inequalities in healthcare delivery.
