Dr Shahbaz Roshan-Zamir specialises in geriatric assessment, cardiovascular disease in the elderly and peri-operative care of older people.

He regularly treats patients with conditions such as:

  • cardiovascular diseases
  • falls
  • frailty
  • delirium
  • reduced mobility

He performs treatments such as:

  • peri-operative care of older people
  • echocardiograms and ECGs
  • falls assessment
  • comprehensive geriatric assessment


Biography

Dr Shahbaz Roshan-Zamir was appointed as a consultant physician and geriatrician in the department of ageing and health at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in 2017.

He trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2006 before completing his general internal medicine and geriatrics specialty training in South London, 2017.

Dr Shahbaz Roshan-Zamir manages the frailty service, providing care for inpatients and undertaking weekly outpatient clinic work (heart failure and comprehensive geriatric assessments).


Research

Dr Shahbaz Roshan-Zamir has a special interest in cardiovascular diseases, and in particular heart failure and valve disease in the elderly. He has training in cardiology, and has publications related to this field.

He has helped develop the Cardiology for Older Persons Service (COPS) and is an active senior committee member and treasurer of cardiovascular section of the British Geriatrics Society. He organises and chairs national meetings related to cardiovascular diseases in the older population.
