Mr Majed Shabbir is a consultant urological surgeon with a specialist interest in andrology, men’s health, male infertility, post prostate cancer care, Genito-urethral reconstructive surgery, microsurgery and prosthetic surgery.

Biography
Mr Majed Shabbir has been a consultant urologist since 2012. He was the clinical lead of the urology service at Guy’s from 2023 to 2026. During his time as lead, Guy’s Urology became the No.1 urology unit in Europe (as listed in the World’s Best Specialised Hospitals for Urology – Newsweek 2025). He was the Southeast London Network Lead for Urology in 2024, and previously the National Chair of The British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Section of Andrology & Genito-urethral Surgery. He received a UK National Clinical Impact Award from 2022 to 2027, and currently is the Transformation Project Lead of a new Guy’s Urology Service at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust.
At Guy’s, Majed set up the largest male infertility service South of the Thames to the South Coast specialising in microsurgery and onco-fertility (fertility preservation in cancer patients). He has trained a generation of surgeons since his appointment at Guy’s in 2012 and has been one of the longest running tutors for andrology and male infertility on the BAUS FRCS (Urol) course, as well as being a tutor for male infertility for the British Fertility Society (BFS) and the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RCOG). He has been involved in writing several national practice guidelines for andrology and male infertility, and was the lead for male infertility on the UK NICE guidelines for fertility problems in 2026.
In addition, Majed was the co-lead for the Guy’s Post Prostatectomy Project focussing on optimising post prostate cancer surgery functional recovery. This service has won several awards, including a GSTT Care Award, and the UK Business Awards Best Clinical Management System in 2023. Majed has also won awards for projects he has been integral to in medical education, including three awards at the 77th Annual Association of Medical Illustrators, including awards for excellence in education, social impact, and the Member’s Choice Award, and has written four chapters in two BMA Award winning books in 2002.
He specialises in all aspects of andrology and men’s health, including male infertility and Genito-urethral reconstruction, including complex and redo surgery, microsurgery and prosthetic surgery.
Research
Mr Shabbir teaches and trains surgeons internationally and has been an invited guest speaker around the world where he has performed a number of live surgery workshops. He is the co-lead of the AGOUR course, one of the largest andrology and infertility courses in the world (with over 4500 registrations in 2024) and has over 100 publications including more than 20 book chapters. He became an Honorary Associate Professor of Andrology and Infertility at King’s College London in 2025.
