Clinical expertise
Dr Vakalis’ is a consultant cardiologist with main expertise in cardiac imaging and heart failure.
He can treat and follow up patients with a wide variety of cardiological problems, including:
- heart failure
- valvulopathies
- hypertension
- all common heart problems such as palpitations, coronary heart disease and many others
He also offers transthoracic echocardiogram for the diagnosis of heart conditions.
He was running the stress echocardiography lab of Harefield Hospital for almost 2 years using unique stress echocardiography protocols with extremely low rates of complications and high percentage of diagnostic studies. He holds European Certifications for transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography and he has been accredited the Level 2 Certificate of CT coronary angiography.
He is the heart failure lead at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and coordinates the relevant MDT.

Biography
Dr Konstantinos Vakalis is consultant cardiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust) and honorary consultant cardiologist at Harefield Hospital.
He was trained in cardiology in Greece and in the UK, and has been working at consultant level in the private sector for many years in Greece. He has been awarded the honorary title of Fellow of the European Cardiology Society.
Research
Dr Vakalis participates in extensive research in arterial stiffness and its relation to coronary artery disease and was the project manager of a large epidemiologic study in Greece with thousands of participants.
Publications
Dr Vakalis has been involved in many publications for multiple international medical journals.
