Biography

Professor Alain Fraissé is a consultant paediatric cardiologist and director of paediatric cardiology at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals and is a visiting professor at Imperial College London.

He completed his medical studies in France, at Marseille University Hospital (part of Aix-Marseille University), where he also received his master’s in physiology and a complementary fellowship in intensive care at the University of the Mediterranean, Marseille.

Then he spent time in the USA as a clinical and research fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Following that, he returned to Marseille University Hospital, where he completed his PhD in respiratory physiology.

For 14 years, he was the director of the paediatric cardiology unit at La Timone Hospital in Marseille, France.

He joined Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals in 2014, where he treats both private and NHS patients.
