Biography
Dr Mark Rosenthal is a consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine and disorders of sleep at Royal Brompton Hospital and Wimpole Street.
He graduated in 1981, achieving distinctions in paediatrics, surgery and pathology alongside winning six undergraduate prizes.
In 1984, he attained his postgraduate diploma and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians. In 1990, the Royal College of Physicians accredited Dr Rosenthal as a paediatrician with a special interest in neonatal medicine. He has since become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics.
Research
Dr Mark Rosenthal’s research interests include:
- respiratory physiology
- cystic fibrosis
- heart disease
- bronchiectasis
- sickle cell disease
His research has also pioneered a new treatment for cystic fibrosis.
Publications
Dr Mark Rosenthal has over 80 peer-reviewed publications regarding his specialist interests.
Teaching
Dr Mark Rosenthal has been invited to give lectures in countries across Europe, the USA, Japan, Peru and South Africa.
He is a visiting professor of respiratory paediatrics at the Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University, Ukraine. He is also a visiting consultant in respiratory paediatrics in Lviv, Ukraine; Doha, Qatar; and Thessaloniki, Greece.
He has co-supervised three doctors of medicine research theses and one PhD.
