Biography

Miss Gabriella Gray has been a consultant obstetrician at St Thomas’ Hospital since 2003 and is the clinical lead for the labour ward.

After qualifying in internal medicine and haematology, Gabriella trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and University College Hospitals. After which she went on to receive highly specialised training in maternal medicine.

Combined with her extensive experience, Gabriella supports patients throughout their pregnancies specialising in expectant mothers affected by medical conditions such as asthma, hypertension, thyroid and blood disorders.

A mother herself, she understands both the excitement and the anxieties of pregnancy and childbirth. Her ethos is to support prospective parents by both nurturing normality and expertly dealing with complexity. She works as part of an expert team of specialist midwives, gynaecologists, anaesthetists, fetal medicine experts, physicians and surgeons.


Research

Gabriella is actively involved in teaching and has co-authored papers in highly respected journals. The most recent publications were an invited review in “Best Practice In Obstetrics and Gynaecology” and a book chapter in “Challenging concepts in obstetrics and gynaecology”.
