Self-funded fertility pathway
If you’re not eligible for NHS funded treatment, or have already accessed treatment but no longer have NHS funding – we understand the move to private fertility can be daunting.
With our self-funded care pathway, you can access expert care to continue your fertility journey.
As a self-funded patient, your journey will differ from our consultant-led personalised care pathway – your care will be led by our team of experienced nurses and doctors.
We intend that all self-funded patients are seen within four to six weeks.
NHS funded treatment
NHS funding for selected fertility treatments may be available for patients who meet the eligibility criteria set by their local clinical commissioning group (CCG). If you meet this criteria and are referred to us by your GP we can help you start the assessment process for the programme.
NHS fertility treatment eligibility criteria
Each clinical commissioning group has different criteria which will have to be taken into account before considering funding your treatment.
Funding for assisted conception may not be available if:
- either you or your partner already has children
- the female partner is over a certain age or has a BMI over 29
- you have already had NHS funded treatment
How the referral process works
Your GP can refer you for treatment at the Assisted Conception Unit. All patients referred by a GP or hospital will be assessed for NHS funding once an initial registration questionnaire has been returned.
We’ll work with you to complete the necessary documents apply for the NHS funding on your behalf. Ultimately the decision lies with your local clinical commissioning group. It usually takes up to six weeks for a clinical commissioning group in London to respond to your request for funding.
If you are successful and your clinical commissioning group has a contract with us, you may be able to start the process within six weeks (or less) from referral. The number of cycles funded vary according to the clinical commissioning group. Anything from one cycle to three treatments could be funded on the NHS.
Due to high demand for our NHS fertility services there is a waiting list. Our team will advise you on an estimated timeframe for the delivery of your fertility care.
