We’ve been caring for children and young people for over 150 years at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. With internationally renowned consultants, specialist staff, innovative technology and modern facilities, we provide an unrivalled depth of experience.
As one of only two specialist children’s hospitals in London, our vision is to be a world leading centre of life-changing care. We’re proud that US Newsweek, the American weekly news magazine, has recognised our hospital as one of the world’s best for children’s services.
We were also the first specialist children’s hospital to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, which regulates health and social care services in England.
World-leading care at every stage
Our co-location at St Thomas’ Hospital means we can provide care to children from before birth with our expertise in maternal and fetal medicine, as well as onward adult care if needed. We can support every stage of a child’s development.
We offer a comprehensive range of clinical services ranging from routine care to specialist complex procedures for children of all ages. With our convenient location by Westminster Bridge in central London, family and friends can stay close to patients throughout their treatment journey.

Our fetal cardiology service is the largest and most established in the UK, managing 2,000 pregnancies each year for the diagnosis of congenital heart disease. With Westminster Maternity Suite at St Thomas’ located close by, we offer comprehensive private care for both mother and baby.
We can also provide 24-hour specialist care for premature and sick babies at our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We care for 1,000 babies each year and have some of the best survival rates in the UK. With our expertise in complex cardiac surgery for congenital heart disease, we can provide vital treatment soon after birth if needed.
Our new state-of-the-art Children’s Day Surgery Unit was opened in 2023 by Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales, who is Evelina London’s Royal Patron. It will enable 2,300 more children and young people to receive day surgery procedures each year.
Some of our children’s cardiology and respiratory services are provided at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals which are recognised as world-leading centres for heart and lung care.

Our team works closely with embassy colleagues, international referrers and government bodies to offer bespoke healthcare packages and support for letters of guarantee to ensure patients are well informed about every aspect of their care.
