We know that undergoing fertility treatment can be challenging. That’s why we strive to always put your health, safety and wellbeing first to provide the best fertility care.
Our Assisted Conception Unit is one of the most advanced centres of its kind in the UK thanks to our focus on care, our pioneering research and innovative techniques and renowned clinicians.
By providing exceptional care, we achieve excellent success rates for our patients.
Independently regulated fertility care
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) is the UK’s independent regulator of treatment and research using eggs, sperm and human embryos.
The HFEA is responsible for granting our licence so we can carry out fertility treatments in line with their standards.
They provide impartial information about UK fertility treatments and provider’s success rates in addition to providing guidance for patients, donors, surrogates and donor conceived people.
The HFEA regulate how we establish the legal parents of a child conceived following fertility treatment and keep our patient information secure.
Success rates
Success rates are a great way to see a fertility clinic’s treatment results.
Although they can’t tell you your own success likelihood, rates can provide an overall view of our Assisted Conception Unit’s performance. Information on success rates is of limited value in comparing centres and choosing where to seek treatment.
Clinical pregnancy rate
After an embryo transfer, a positive pregnancy is confirmed with either a urine or blood test.
A clinical pregnancy is then confirmed only after a pregnancy sac and fetus have been seen by your consultant during an ultrasound scan 2-4 weeks after a positive pregnancy test.
We calculate the clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transfer to indicate how many embryo transfer procedures have resulted in a clinical pregnancy, regardless of the number of embryos transferred at each procedure.
We also calculate the clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transferred, to indicate how many embryos have been transferred overall and the resultant clinical pregnancy rate.
These figures are for women having IVF/ICSI treatment using their own eggs.

Live birth data
Our aim is for fertility treatment to result in the birth of a healthy baby. We calculate our live birth rate compared to the number of embryo transfer procedures and the number of embryos transferred. We ask all our patients to inform us with the outcome of their pregnancy so that we are able to provide the live birth rate.
The duration of a pregnancy means that the most recent complete live birth data is from 2022. The table below shows the live birth rate that resulted following a fresh embryo transfer for women having IVF/ICSI treatment using their own eggs.
