Biography

Dr Björn Thomas is a consultant dermatologist specialising in dermato-oncology and inflammatory conditions, with a PhD for his work on atopic eczema. In his private practice, he treats cancerous conditions and high impact inflammatory skin conditions like acne and rosacea which he believes are often undertreated or late to be managed due to limited access to effective treatments.

Dr Thomas graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London with a distinction and was awarded the Brackenbury Prize for Medicine and Surgery. He completed his post-graduate medical training in London and his dermatology training at Bart’s Health NHS Trust and the Royal Free Hospital.

After his general dermatology training, he completed a dermatology fellowship in dermato-oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital where he focused on cutaneous lymphoma, graft-versus host disease and melanoma.

Research

Dr Björn Thomas’ PhD work focuses on the investigation of the genetic architecture of atopic eczema and the role of environmental stresses, such as pollution. This work was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Trainee Research Prize.

He is currently focusing his clinical research on skin lymphoma.
