Miss Jess McMicking is passionate, enthusiastic, empathetic and prides herself on being personally available and approachable to discuss any concerns you may have along your pregnancy journey.

She brings a wealth of experience to her patients, as a qualified nutritionist she is able to provide tailored holistic care.

Jess provides a range of expert care including:

  • support for pregnancies affected by inflammatory bowel disease and other gastrointestinal illnesses
  • interventional obstetrics
  • high risk antenatal care
  • intrapartum care

Jess prioritises listening to parents and shaping their pregnancy care and birth plans to their needs while also ensuring safe outcomes are achieved. She believes that seeing the same obstetrician throughout your entire pregnancy (private maternity’s continuity of care model) allows you to build a trusted relationship and plays a critical role in achieving outstanding care.



Biography

Miss Jess McMicking is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals. She underwent her specialist training in Sydney, Australia, giving her a global perspective on private maternity care.

You’ll meet one-on-one with Jess through your entire pregnancy. Listening to your needs, Jess will tailor your pregnancy care and birth plan to ensure safe and positive outcomes for all. She recognises that every family’s journey is different.

Jess can also be found sharing her expert opinions in the media, and she appears regularly on Jessie Ware’s podcast “Is it normal?” which has been a highly successful pregnancy podcast.

Jess recently became a mother herself in September 2022. This journey gave her unique insight, especially in preparing for the birth, postnatal recovery and adjustment period as a mother and family. Jess is here to support you and understands the challenges that you and your partner may face.

Education

Jess underwent her specialist training in Australia prior to her selection for a fellow position at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals to complete her Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
