Biography

Professor Philip Molyneaux is a consultant in interstitial lung disease and the director of the NIHR cardiorespiratory clinical research facility at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He is the lead consultant for clinical trials into pulmonary fibrosis

Professor Molyneaux qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2004. Following that he trained in respiratory medicine and critical care medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’, St Mary’s, Royal Brompton and King’s College hospitals. He was awarded a PhD from Imperial College in 2015 for his studies into idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He is now the Asthma and Lung UK chair of respiratory research at Imperial College London where he runs an active clinical and translational research program that oversees a team of basic scientists and clinical trial research staff.
