Research

Dr Cloke’s research interests has focused on the biological, genetic and endocrine mechanisms underlying women’s reproductive health, with particular emphasis in premature ovarian insufficiency, endometrial function and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.

She completed and was awarded a PhD by Imperial College London funded by a Wellcome Trust Fellowship, with internationally recognised research into the role of androgens and androgen receptors in the decidualising endometrium. As an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow, Dr Cloke established and led the APOLLO study, investigating the genomic basis of premature ovarian insufficiency using whole exome sequencing. She went on to lead early onset familial premature ovarian insufficiency, the only women’s health rare disease accepted into the 100,000 Genomes Project.

Her recent research interests include reproductive genomics, gynaecological endocrinology, menopause, and complex gynaecological conditions in children and adolescents.
