Dr Rakesh Vora is a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist who specialises in nutrition, eosinophilic oesophagitis, functional gastroenterology, and inflammatory bowel disease.

He regularly treats patients with conditions such as:

  • chronic constipation
  • chronic vomiting
  • functional abdominal pain
  • gastrostomy feeding
  • inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
  • jejunal feeding

Biography

Dr Rakesh Vora has been a consultant in paediatric gastroenterology since 2015. He has undertaken undergraduate and postgraduate training in Mumbai, India and completed the specialist training programme in paediatric gastroenterology in the UK.

He is currently the clinical lead at Evelina London Children’s Hospital and lead for nutrition and intestinal failure. In addition, he is a member of the Nutrition Committee at European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology (ESPGHAN) alongside being a member of the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology.

Dr Vora has done multiple presentations at regional, national and international forums and has been published in many peer reviewed journals and books. he was awarded multiple grants for research in gastroenterological conditions and  currently actively contributing to research at Evelina London in many gastroenterology and allergy projects.


Research

Rakesh has published various studies including; gastroenterological investigation in food allergy, experience with MRSA in a central London tertiary paediatric hospital, jejunal tube feeding in children: safety and efficacy, and oesophageal spasm in eosinophilic oesophagitis.

Recognised worldwide as a figure in the field of nutrition, functional disorders of gut-brain interaction, inflammatory bowel disease, and  eosinophilic oesophagitis.
