Located at the iconic Old Fire Station, 1 South Parade, Chelsea, Royal Brompton Private Consulting Rooms provide access to a range of cardiothoracic tests, and easy access to the very latest imaging technology at Royal Brompton Hospital’s diagnostic imaging centre.
With six modern consulting rooms, a range of services can be accessed:
- chest X-ray
- computed tomography (CT) – cardiac and respiratory
- echocardiography (stress and contrast)
- electrocardiogram (ECG)
- lung function – fit to fly testing
- nuclear medicine
- phlebotomy
- paediatric care – including cardiology and respiratory imaging
- physiotherapy
- second opinion service
- pre-assessment and pre-admission testing
- blood gas monitoring and blood pressure
- pacing.
Wimpole Street Consulting Rooms and Diagnostic Centre
Wimpole Street is a convenient location in the famous Harley Street Medical Area. Here a range of tests can be scheduled on the same day.
Tests available include:
- cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging
- computed tomography (CT) – cardiac, lung and general
- echocardiography – transthoracic, stress and contrast-enhanced
- lung function – spirometry, gas transfer, lung volumes and end capillary blood gases
- magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – cardiac and general assessment
- chest x-ray
- non-invasive cardiology – exercise testing, electrocardiogram (ECG), pacing and holter monitoring
- positron emission tomography – computed tomography (PET-CT) – including Rubidium cardiac imaging, oncology and neurology
- ultrasound

Opening times
Royal Brompton Private Consulting Rooms are open for outpatient appointments from:
- 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday.
Wimpole Street is open for outpatient appointments from:
- 8 am to 8 pm on Monday to Friday
- 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday fortnightly.
For your convenience, at both sites, we can schedule consultations and multiple tests on the same day, at the same location.
